The Carer Visa (Subclass 836) is a permanent visa that lets you remain and apply from within Australia to care for someone with a long-term medical condition. They must have no reasonable access to care options in Australia. The Carer Visa (Subclass 836) is to be applied for if you are currently within Australia.
CARER VISA (SUBCLASS 116)
The Carer Visa (Subclass 836) enables a carer to remain in Australia permanently. The carer must be willing and able to provide ongoing substantial care and support for the sponsoring relative or family member who lives with them. The holder of the Carer Visa (Subclass 836) must be able to demonstrate they understand the sponsor's medical condition and individual needs.
To be eligible for the Carer Visa (Subclass 836), you will need to:

Be sponsored by an eligible sponsor and such sponsorship needs to be approved by the Australian Government.

The Carer Visa (Subclass 836) is a permanent visa that allows you to remain in Australia indefinitely. You can work and study in Australia and enroll in Australia's public health care scheme Medicare. You can in turn sponsor your relatives to come to Australia and travel to and from Australia for up to 5 years. After this point you will either have to apply for a Resident Return Visa (RRV) or alternatively you can consider applying for Australian Citizenship. As stated, you can include your family in this visa.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CARER VISA SUBCLASS 116 & CARER VISA SUBCLASS 836
The main difference between the Carer Visa (Subclass 116) & Carer Visa (Subclass 836) is that the Carer Visa (Subclass 116) is to applied for offshore (outside Australia) while the Carer Visa (Sublcass 836) is to be applied for if you are currently within Australia.

Costs are covered in 2 seperate installments for this visa.
